“You are what you do,” proclaimed Hansel’s father, an aphorism appropriate to this musical play.  Village children go missing and rumors suggest a witch is about.  Wanting to be brave, our young duo joins in the search and encounters first, the Sand Men then the Dew fairies, and finally are captured by the witches.  Gretel tricks one and pushes her into the oven, then releases all the captured “Gingerbread” children.   This show includes the opera composer, Humperdinck’s melodic folk songs and original tunes as well.  A fun endeavor for young aspiring actors.
